The 1st Annual, "Bowling for Jess", Charity Bowling Event: This event was a pleasure to be associated with. Here is a little background on this great "Bowling For Jess" Event: "My name is Bryan Ray and I lost my wife, Jessica, 4 years ago to Ovarian Cancer. Jess was 29 years old. She had a tough battle but could not fight any longer against this dangerous disease. I was left to care for my two children, Savannah and Alex who were trying to cope with the fact they would never see their mommy again. Savannah was 5 and Alex was 3 when Jess passed away. We miss her each and every day. I decided that instead of knowing thousands of women suffer from this disease each year that I could do something about it and have decided to help raise funds to aid in research for the disease that changed our lives forever." The goal for this event was $3,000. With the support of Bryan's family and friends, the event raised almost $5,000!!! Although, it was emotional at times, this event raised, not only money for the fight against ovarian cancer, but also awareness for the almost 500 people in attendance. On behalf of myself and GGEMCO, I would like to personally say, "Thank You", to all the celebrities in attendance and all the people who came out to support this great cause. I know without you, "Bowling For Jess" could not have been such a great success. I look forward to helping next year and at least doubling what was raised this year! "Special Thanks" to: Jamal Anderson, Jon Koncak, Eric Matthews, Mike McCoy, Craig Skok, Trent Mayo, Jim Russell, Bryan's Family and Friends, U.S. Play, All the Sponsors, Autograph Helper Attendees, and everyone involved in helping support the 1st Annual, "Bowling For Jess", Event. We look forward to seeing you again next year!!! |
